Worth Sr., William Augustus

Passed away on June 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on February 24, 1929 to Leo and Linna (Lawrence) Worth in Cass County, Michigan. He was the youngest of seven children. Bill moved to the Jackson area as a young child. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1947.

Bill married the love of his life, Audrey Faye (Forbes) Worth on July 8, 1950. This began their commitment to living a full life together; raising their family, working together, and playing together. They created many wonderful memories together during their 67 year marriage.

Bill became a licensed land surveyor and began his own business, Worth Surveying, in 1971. He was well-respected by his clients and had a reputation as an expert in his field. He worked throughout the State of Michigan. Prior to his own business, he worked as a surveyor for Consumer's Power and Snyder Engineering. He retired in 1994.

Bill loved to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. He enjoyed golfing, traveling the United States and Canada, and the warm sunshine in Siesta Key, Florida. He was one of the founding members of Club 54. He enjoyed sporting events, particularly cheering for University of Michigan, and relaxing with good books, puzzles, card games, and his swimming pool.  He taught his children and grandchildren that family comes first, to be honest, hard-working, and loyal. He was a determined, strong-willed person who believed in doing what is right. He never put his own needs above the needs of his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Lawrence (Helen), Mary, Emmett, Alton, Jesse (Julia), and Juva (Lyle) Donovan.

Bill is survived by his wife and 11 children: William, Jr. (Kathleen), Thomas (Pam), Mary, Cynthia, Kathleen (Kathleen), Susan, Amy, Caroline (Thomas) Wacker, James (Monique), Patricia (Joseph) Ritter, John, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
