Kelly, William J.
Of Jackson passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 age 89 years. Survived by his children, Susan M. (Mark) Byrne, Julie M. Kelly, Jennifer M. Kelly, Mary A. Malaika, Ellen M. Vonderahe, Christopher J. Kelly, Carrie M. (Scott) Federle, and Michael J. Kelly; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Julie Crowley; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and grandnephews. Preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Annetta H. Kelly; sons, Phillip J. Kelly and Joseph H. Kelly; parents, Phillip and Rhoda Kelly; brother Mark and his wife, Kathryn Kelly; sister, Sheelah M. Kelly; and brother-in-law, James Crowley.
Bill was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a Jackson Area Attorney for 65 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and past President of the Queen's Board of Education and the Diocesan Board of Education. In 1989 Bill received the St. Thomas Aquinas Award from the Catholic Lawyers Guild.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating. Interment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, April 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to Lumen Christi Catholic School or to Queen's Elementary would be appreciated.
