Bill was born on January 19th, 1954 in Kane, IL. Bill was a Vietnam veteran and was always proud that he took the ultimate sacrifice to serve America. With over 30 years of Active and Reserve time, he was committed to his duty as a Sargent (E5) with the United States Army. He loved his Jeeps (especially that red Cherokee), playing Keno and pull tabs, and basically anything to do with guns (excellent gun repairman).

He was a longtime member of the American Legion (Posts #29 and #324) and was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He served the community in Jackson and always knew someone for the job (if he didn't already know how to do it himself). He was a general contractor of his own business, Eagle General Building Maintenance, where he even took Chance under his wing and taught him almost everything he knew with electrical work and housing maintenance. He was also a faithful Catholic man in life.

Bill was survived by his only son Chance Carless and his wife Skylar, his sister Kathy Pearson and her husband Buzz, and life long partner Carolyn DeLong. He joined his parents and unborn grandchild in Heaven.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Bill at the American Legion Post #29 on January 11th, 2023 from 1pm-3pm.

We will be accepting donations sent via PayPal, Cash App, by mail, or at the Celebration of Life in person. All donations will be totaled and divided in half, then donated to the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Bill.
