Keyser, William "Bill" C.

aged 73, of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 of heart failure at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.

Born on July 10, 1945, in Buffalo, New York, Bill was the first and only son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Moore) Keyser. After spending his childhood in Hamburg alongside his younger sister, Ann, Bill attended Clarkson College in Postdam, New York, where he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering. Later, Bill received his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and his MBA from the University of Michigan. It was while attending RPI that Bill met Nanette Scalisi and embraced the Catholic Faith - two events that profoundly shaped the rest of his life.

On August 24, 1968, Bill married Nanette in Norwalk, Connecticut. Bill took a position with Consumers Energy in Michigan, and together, Bill and Nanette were blessed to welcome four children (David, Nina, Lisa, and Marc) into their lives, whom they raised with great care and devotion.

After 35 years of service as a professional engineer, Bill retired from Consumers Energy (he helped "keep the lights on"). Throughout his retirement, Bill remained a computer enthusiast and avid reader (seeing him without a book or newspaper in hand was unimaginable), who also enjoyed participating in lively games of poker with friends, as well as challenging his grandchildren to chess matches (which he did not "let" them win). Most especially, he was devoted to his wife (with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage this past year), his children, his grandchildren, and his Catholic Faith. Following his conversion to the Faith as a young man, Bill's fidelity to the Church was a driving force in his life, witnessed by his commitment to daily Mass attendance and prayer.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nanette; his children: David (Cheryll), Nina (Darryl) Jackson, Lisa (David) Myler, and Marc (Megan); his sister, Ann Griffin; and his grandchildren: Olivia, Jonathan, Darryl Jr., John "Jack", Natalie, Noah, Lauralyn, Flynn, Juliet, Aurora, Belle, and Marcello. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elizabeth.
