October 17, 1937 — April 9, 2026

William J. Bullinger Sr.

Age 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Arcadia, Michigan, on April 9, 2026. Bill was born on October 17, 1937, in Jackson, Michigan, to his loving parents, Louise (Lefere) and John “Jack” Bullinger. He was a proud graduate of St. John High School (Class of 1955), served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and later attended Milwaukee School of Engineering.

On August 16, 1958, Bill married Sally Kay Cameron. He was deeply devoted to his first wife, and their years together were filled with love and partnership. Together they were blessed with seven children and after her passing, he was fortunate to find love again with Virginia, who brought him companionship, joy, and care in the later chapter of his life.

A lifelong member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church, Bill lived his Catholic faith with deep conviction. He was especially devoted to Eucharistic Adoration, faithfully practiced the Corporal Works of Mercy—particularly visiting and calling on the sick—and prayed the Rosary daily with Virginia.

Bill was the past president and owner of Ajax Heating and Air Conditioning, a family business serving the Jackson area for over 85 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia; his children: Julie (Owen), William Jr. (Lynn), Marylou (Jim), Patrick, Michael, and Christopher (Jodi); his son-in-law, Craig; his grandchildren: Andrew (Amber), Christian, Olivia (Phil), Cameron, Jason (Glenna), Brad (Taylor), Michael, Alec (Kendra), Spencer (Ashley), Peyton (Josh), Brooke, Maddie, Molly, Matt (Aliyah), Emma, Carly (Jake), Wyatt, and Autumn; and ten great-grandchildren. Siblings Pat, Jack (Janice), Tom (Peggy), and Josie (Frank). Bill also cherished lifelong friendships including 80 years with childhood best friend Walt Wendell, and treasured relationships with brother-in-law Stuart and sister-in-law Penny (Jeff), cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Sally; daughter, Beverly; sister MaryJane and brother Frank. Bill cherished the special bonds he shared with his grandparents, aunts, and uncles in the Bullinger-Lefere families, with whom he is now joyfully reunited.

Bill has been cremated in accordance with his wishes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Fr. Timothy MacDonald will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice of Michigan, Ludington MI or Michigan Right to Life in Bill’s memory.

“You will be forever loved and never forgotten. Eternal rest grant unto you, Dad, and let perpetual light shine upon you. May the angels lead you into Paradise.”
