Bemer, William Joseph
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, William Joseph Bemer of Jackson, who passed away on January 24, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Terri Jo; his sons, William II (Jessica), Zachary, Jacob, and Samuel; grandchildren, Theodore and Sophia; siblings, Debra and Steven; mother-in-law, Barbara Janson; and his siblings-in-law, Johnna Janson, JR Janson, Paula Bemer.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Janice and Carlton Bemer; his brother, James (Beano); his grandparents; and his father-in-law, John Janson.
Billy was known for his outgoing and comical personality and infectious enthusiasm for life. He used witty humor to connect with people and make life fun. He also had a passion for sports. He was not just a coach for his four boys but also a mentor for youth in the community.
For 30 years, Billy dedicated himself to the asphalt paving industry and he worked tirelessly on our highways. His commitment to his craft and strong work ethic were evident in every project he undertook. He worked diligently to provide for his family, as family was at the heart of everything Billy did. His last act was selflessly giving to other families as an organ donor.
His greatest joy was being Papa to Teddy and Sophie. He leaves behind a grieving family who will continue to honor his memory and the values he instilled. We will miss you Big Dog.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Chas Canoy officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday at the Church from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family for their needs and wishes would be appreciated.
