Wayne G. Bodenstedt

Bodenstedt, Wayne G.

of Jackson, Michigan, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 3, 2020, after a very brief battle with cancer.  Wayne was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 27, 1951, to John and June (Drouillard) Bodenstedt. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice (Vecchiato) Bodenstedt, his daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Mark Gillmore, his granddaughter, Hannah Gillmore, sisters and brother, Judy (John) Dicker, David (JMicheal Smith) Bodenstedt, and Lynn (James) Moses, plus several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and June, and brother, Mick Bodenstedt.

Wayne, a 1980 graduate of Eastern Michigan University, was a long-time employee of Northwest Community Schools and Ypsilanti Public Schools, serving as the Director of Transportation, Buildings and Grounds in both districts.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be announced at a
later date.
