Klavon,Walter Joseph
of Jackson, Michigan died Monday, January 13, 2014 in his home that he built skillfully for his loving wife and hopeful family in the future. He is survived by a daughter Linda Klavon of Jackson, MI. a son Christopher Klavon of Jackson, MI. and a son Thomas (Leann) Klavon of Traverse City, MI. Including 6 grandchildren Alan (Carrie) Klavon of West Chester, OH. Corey (Natasha) Klavon of Jackson, MI. Erin Klavon of Lansing, MI. and Matthew (Sophia) Klavon of San Antonio, TX. with Sydney Klavon and Scott Klavon of Traverse City, MI. 3 great grandchildren, and sister in law Joann BeVier. Multiple nieces, nephews, and God children.
Walter was born on May 3, 1921 in Jackson, Michigan to John and Josephine (Kaplinski) Klavon. Graduating in 1939 from Jackson Tech HS. Entering Henry Ford Training School completing his apprenticeship, Journeyman, and Master Craftsman qualifications. To become a proud and gifted Tool & Die Maker.
He enlisted into the Navy 1944 during WWII. Upon his return home serving our nation he married Waneta (BeVier) Klavon his wife of 47 years, who preceded him in death in 1995. Walter at age 92 was also preceded in death by many other loved family and friends. Walter is known for his indomitable strength and willl be remembered for his love of God, his family, and country.
Mr. Klavon is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Friday, January 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:30 PM.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Private interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes charitable contributions to be made in his name to any charity serving families honoring his life long generosity.
