Passed away Wednesday June 18th, 2025 at the age of 89. He is survived by wife, Judith of 63 years. Daughters Ramona Stockton (Charles), Rebecca Udzik, Rachel Vasquez (James) and son Virgil Udzik (Laura). Grandchildren: Ashley, Jaimie, Meghan, Courtenay, Caitlin, Andrew, Zoey and Cody. Great grandchildren: Sydnei, Tessah, Liam, Dayton, Caidance, Colton, Charlotte, Corrina, Julyan, Aaren, Kahtrell, Seth and Micah. Preceded in death by Walter Sr. and Mary Udzik (parents) and Samuel (great-grandson).

Walter was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1959, retired as a letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Jackson Federation of Musicians and played the accordion and keyboard in the Wayne & Company Sounds Appropriate band. He was a long time member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Polish Falcons of America, AARP, NARFE and Silver Linings. Walter enjoyed playing and listening to many kinds of music, doing word search puzzles, enjoying his wind chimes and was faithful in praying for the release of the souls in purgatory.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Jackson, Michigan on Monday June 23rd at 10:30 AM with the Reverend Father Robert Pienta officiating. A private interment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at St. John's Church on Monday, June 23rd from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Parish or the Aware Shelter in Jackson.
