Ellsworth, Vivian Elaine of Jackson passed away on October 6, 2009 at the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of Bernard and Vera Phillips. She is survived by her loving son Roger, his wife Joan and her grandson Tom Ellsworth. Also by a special childhood friend, Joan McCoy, to whom she was always "Tootie". One brother, Wendell Phillips, preceded her in death.

Vivian Elaine "Tootie" Ellsworth was born May 18, 1924 in Somerset Center. She graduated from Cement City High School and then moved to Detroit with her parents. She lived there for 11 years, married and had a son, Roger. In 1954 she moved back to Somerset Center (the marriage had ended) with her son and parents. In the following years she worked at Chuck & Mable's Grocery Store, Alsons Showers, Hennessy Drug Store, Hillsdale Automotive, and retired from Auto-Wares of Coldwater at age 70 years.

Over the years she enjoyed going on trips with her family and also belonged to the Pathfinders Travel club. She spent her last years living in Jackson.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Desnoyer Funeral Home at 11:30am on Saturday October 17, preceded by a visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 and followed by a luncheon. Pastor Robert Livingston officiating.
