McElhone, Virginia "Ginny"
of Jackson, died on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the age of 78 years, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles A. "Charlie". Ginny is survived by eleven children, Kathy (Mark) Jordan-Sedgeman, Beth, Tim (Chris), Nancy, Denny (Trish), Mike, Sue, Bill (Leona) Gould-McElhone, Jamie (Melissa), Amy (Pat) Neville, John (Hope); 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Virginia Ann Crane was born on January 29, 1932 in Maywood, Illinois. She loved music and used her keyboard talents to be a church organist and was delighted when there were people gathered around the piano for a sing-along.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday from
2–4 and 6–8 PM and on Wednesday from 10–10:30 AM at Queens Church. A Rosary Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Reverend Father Mathias Thelen being the celebrant. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Lumen Christi High School or the University of Michigan Kidney Transplant Program would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at Allegiance Hospice and Summit Park Assisted Living for their compassionate care.
