LEATHERMAN, VIOLET

Of Parma passed away under the loving care of her family and the staff at Faith Haven Senior Care Center Thursday, October 29, 2009 age 94 years. Preceded in death in 2003 by her husband of 54 years, Frank, seven brothers and two sisters. Survived by one son, Dennis (Sue) Leatherman of Huntsville, Alabama. One daughter, Mary Ann Halmekangas of Parma. Five grandchildren; Kristina (Anass) Madh, Ben Leatherman, Matt (Emily) Leatherman, Karen (Russ) Gaston and Matt (Amber) Halmekangas. Three great grandchildren; Avah, Bennett and Olivia. Special sisters in law; Delaine and Phyllis Hudson. Numerous nieces and nephews. Violet dedicated her life to her family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and card playing. Mrs. Leatherman is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 9:30 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 10:00 am. Interment St. John's Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Pienta officiating.

Contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or to St. John Church would be appreciated.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 8 pm. Vigil Service Sunday at 7 pm.
