Brown, Veronica "Susie"
Susie Brown, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the age of 83 years. Susie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bert. She is survived by her five children; Cindi (Pete) Ormsby, Linda (Mark) Barr, Randy (Carolyn) Brown, Jeff (Shelly) Brown, and Becky Jimenez; eight grandchildren, Stacy Rawlins, Aaron Barr, Adam (Sara) Barr and Amber (Jeff) Watkins, Gregory and Kristin Brown, Justin (Maggie) Brown, and Betsi (Spencer) Moulios; nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Parker, Abby, Ethan, Jackson, Allison, Brantley and Elliot; several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ellen Pahl; brothers Charles, James and John; grandson Paul, and great-granddaughter Jillian.
Susie was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital, Highland Nursing Home and Faith Haven Care Center, where she later served as Administrator. She retired in 1996. She loved being with her family, and enjoyed spending time in Houghton Lake and Florida, fishing, playing cards, and traveling. She was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles #3634. Susie loved life and touched the lives and hearts of many. She will be sadly missed.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Satheesh Alphonse SdC as the celebrant. A private interment will take place at Maxon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 22 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. They will also receive friends at the church on Thursday, before the Mass, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, or the charity of your choice.
