Hoover, Timothy A.
age 65, of Pleasant Lake, MI, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009. He was born on December 16, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Neal F. Hoover and Rena Jeanette (LeMar) Hoover. Tim married Ricki (Elsie) Workman on January 27, 1967 in Ypsilanti, MI and she survives. Tim graduated with a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University in 1967. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne, receiving two bronze stars for action in Vietnam. He retired from the Lansing, MI office of Wachovia Securities. He joined the Clark Lake Yacht Club in 1974 where he enjoyed years of fellowship with other sailors and competing with his Rebel sailboat. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. In addition to his wife, Ricki, Tim is survived by his son, Jeff of South Carolina, his daughter, Teresa (Erik) Odegard of Pleasant Lake, his daughter, Nicole (Chris) Hartley of Grand Haven; his six grandchildren, James, Ashlee, Brittany, Katelynn, Camden, Eliza; great grandchildren, James and Julian; his brother, Christopher (Sue) and sisters, Celeste (Dennis) Nemeth, Janelle (Ed) Hamilton, and Rosemary (Keith) Krumrei, as well as many nieces and nephews.

According to his wishes, Tim has been cremated. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 11 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Rev. Robert Pienta will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the Mass, from 10-11 AM.

In honor of Tim, memorial donations may be sent to the Fisher House Foundation, Inc., (www.fisherhouse.org), which benefits military men and women and their families or to the Liver Transplant Group Research, Office of Medical Development & Alumni Relations, 301 E. Liberty, Suite 400, Ann Arbor, MI 48104–2251.
Checks payable to the U of M hospital in memory of Tim Hoover, Envelopes will also be available at the church on Friday.
