Smith, Thomas Charles
Tom Smith, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Tom was the son of John and Irene Smith, who preceded him in death. Loving and devoted husband of 39 years to Jenny (Virginia Fridd), and dedicated father to Shanna (Dave) Turyan, Sheela (John) Federici, Sarra Smith, and Tommy Smith. An adoring Opa to Giovanni, Grace, Sebastian, David, and Dominic. Siblings, Nancy Fitzpatrick, Judy Smith, Mark (Cathy) Smith. In-laws, Karl (Connie) Fridd, Sue (Bob) Fitzpatrick, nieces, nephews, and so many beloved friends.
Tom was known to many as "Painter Tom". He had a calm presence and true heart of service. God was at the forefront of his life. Brought up in strong faith, he carried that on through his marriage, raising kids, and is now his legacy.
Tom was an avid Detroit Lions and University of Michigan fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing.
