Polec, Thomas Walter

passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Tempe, AZ. Tom was born November 19, 1950 in Jackson, Michigan and was the son of Alfred and Delores Polec. He will be lovingly remembered as a husband, father, and son by his family.

Tom attended St. Mary's Star of the Sea and was in the first graduating class of Lumen Christi Catholic High School in 1969. He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Masters degree in aeronautical engineering. He worked at Garrett / Allied Signal / Honeywell for over 30 years. He was also a part of the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamond Backs organization for 5 years. He was employed at Barrett Jackson as well. Tom was a sports enthusiast who coached and officiated many high school sports.

Tom is preceded in death by his father Alfred Polec. Tom is survived by: his mother, Delores Kwiatek, his step father, Frank Kwiatek, his wife of 44 years, Cindy Polec, his 5 sons: Tommy, Daniel, Brian, Shane and Chad and his 9 grandchildren: Matthew, Emily, Adrik, Layla, Mya, Harper, Jackson, Raelynn, and Trestan. He is also survived by his younger brother Dan (Sandra) and sister Pam (Steve) Wallace.

Arizona services for Tom Polec will be held on Saturday August 8, 2015 at Lakeshore Mortuary located at 1815 S. Dobson Road Mesa, Arizona with the service starting at 11:00am.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home, 204 N. Blackstone St., Jackson, Michigan on Friday, August 14 from 6–8 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.

Mass of the Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church located at 120 E. Wesley St, Jackson, MI 49201. Father Timothy Nelson will be the celebrant at the Mass.
