Masters, Thomas J.
Of Jackson, passed away under the loving care of his family and the staff at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the age of 68 after his battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lori Masters (Nelson); two daughters, Rachel Masters and Hannah (Tyler) Tosch; sister, Rosalie Blinn; brothers, Lou and Gary Masters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jennie Masters (Pizano); brothers-in-law, Gary Blinn and Ted Nelson; sister-in-law, Sue Masters; and great-nephew, Connor Blinn.
Thomas graduated from Lumen Christi High School, class of 1972. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors Degree. Thomas worked at Willis and Machnik Financial Services for several years. He was an avid bird hunter, fisherman, Detroit Lions Fan, and enjoyed reading books about American History.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. A private inurnment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to Jackson Area Catholic Schools or Catholic Charities would be appreciated.
