Thomas William Lourim

age 84, died peacefully at the Vista Grande Villa Care Center, Wednesday, November 19, 2014. He was born January 21, 1930 in Jackson, Michigan to Francis and Marion (Horning) Lourim. He married Mary Lou Hoffman on May 3, 1952 in Jackson, MI, and she survives. He attended the University of Michigan for a year and was a lifelong Wolverine fan. He was a Systems Analyst at Consumers Power Company for 36 years before retiring in 1990. Tom was a proud U. S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his family and anything that had to do with the University of Michigan.

Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou; 3 children, Mary Anne Gough and Jeff (LuAnn) Lourim of Jackson and Michele (Vince) Lichtinger of Findlay, Ohio; sister, Margaret Stivender, of Bloomfield Hills, MI; sisters- in- law, B.J. Bunker of Jackson, Laura Lee Hoffman of Cincinnati, OH, and Edna Mae (Bill) Hirschfelt of Penryn, CA; grandchildren, Tom Gough (Danielle Adams), Tim (Maegan) Gough, Michael Gough, Chris Lourim (Lisa Hicks), Megan Lourim, Shawn Lourim, Mitchell Lichtinger, and Matthew Lichtinger; 3 great grandchildren, Natalee & Nora Gough, and Broyden Cole; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Marion Lourim; brothers, Robert Lourim and John Lourim; sister, Mary Lourim; brothers-in-law, Dick Bunker, Herman Hoffman, and Don Stivender; and sister-in-law, Helen Lourim.

There will be a Rosary said on Friday, November 28 at 6:00 PM at Desnoyer Funeral Home, 204 N. Blackstone, Jackson , MI, with visitation immediately following until 8:00 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 29 at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 606 S Wisner St, Jackson, MI 49203 at 11:00 AM with Father John Whitlock as the celebrant.
