Hawkins, Thomas Peter
Of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026 under the loving care of his family, the staff at Hospice of Lenawee and Cambrian Senior Living of Tecumseh at the age of 91 years.
He is survived by his two sons, Thomas P. Hawkins II (Vera) and Mark J. Hawkins (Laura); daughter, Jacqueline Willis (Phil); grandchildren, Russell Hawkins (Toina), Thomas Hawkins III (Heather), Amy Bortell (Peter), Matthew Hawkins (Katie), and Daniel M. Hawkins (Kelsey); seven great grandchildren; sisters, Wendy Brockie (Dale), Mary Jacobs, Margie Whitefield Harris (Steve), and Patricia Weibel; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marjorie Hawkins; first wife, Linda Lois Clark; second wife, Victoria R. Hawkins; his son, Michael T. Hawkins; sister, Betsy Perrigo (Dick); and brothers-in-law, Jake Jacobs and Tom Weibel.
Tom graduated from St. Mary High School of Jackson, Michigan and later graduated from the University of Notre Dame.
He was a devoted Catholic who attended Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Tom was an avid and exceptional golfer. He worked as a lifelong salesman for several companies throughout his career. Tom also was a published author, writing two books: “The Valiant Years” and “Press Two for English.”
He loved his faith, golfing, and his family, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Hawkins is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 4:00 PM with his son, Pastor Tom Hawkins officiating. A private interment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 24 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM.
