Fifelski (Lavallee), Therese Yolande

Age 83, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully with her devoted husband, Richard, next to her side on Saturday, November 12th, 2016. She was born in Highland Park, Michigan. Therese is preceded in death by son, Michael, and grandson, Joseph, and is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard. She was a loving and adventurous mother and is survived by children Patrick (Teresa) Fifelski, Anne-Therese (Roy) Shaw, Christopher (Catherine) Fifelski, and James (Kathryn) Fifelski, along with her 28 well-loved grandchildren.

Therese loved singing in the Jackson Chorale and Choir for many years at both Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church and St. Rita's Catholic Church in Clark Lake. She is a graduate of Marygrove College with degrees in Art and Science, was a lover of art for her entire life, and worked with the Arts Go to School program when her children were young.

Therese was active with Clark Lake Players, Jackson Civic Theatre and Center Stage Jackson. She loved being with young people and served in a variety of ways including box office, producer, props and costumes. Therese was a long-time member of the Jackson Woman's Club, and twice served as its president. She enjoyed square dancing with the Square Potts and spending as much time as possible at Browns Lake.

Therese will be missed by her family, friends, and church community and remembered especially for her beautiful smile, warm heart, strength in illness, and strong faith!

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 18 at St. Rita Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Helfrich O.S.F.S. officiating. Private interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Church.
