Theresa M. Bjerke

of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014, after a 13 year long battle with cancer, at the age of 76 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeVerne; her sister, Delia "Dee" Mae Roty and her brother-in-law, Robert Wilson. She is survived by her children, Susan (Roger) Weaver, Carol (Tom) Meyer, Mark (Jenn) Gregory, Patricia Gregory and Steve (Chris) Bjerke; 14 grandchildren, Korri, Kelsey, Kayla, Kyle, Alexis, Abby, Bailey, Mackenzie, Ashley, Jordan, Morgan, Taylor, Max and John; four siblings, Gilbert (Barbara) Lavey, Helen Wilson, Phyllis (Richard) Sierminski and Carolyn (Leo) Fitzpatrick; brother-in-law, Robert Roty; special friends, Ann Acker, Mari Craft, Eleanor St. John and Donna Ryan.

Theresa graduated from St. Mary's High School then went on to work at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 30 years. She was an avid bowler who won many awards. She loved going to the beach, laying in the sun and reading a book. She loved to travel with family and friends and lived for her grandkids.

The family would like to thank Dr. Malcom Trimble of Allegiance Health in Jackson, MI, the Allegiance Hematology and Oncology Department and Allegiance Hospice Home.

According to her wishes, Theresa has been cremated. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Thursday, October 30 at 10:00 AM with Father Tim Nelson as the celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Allegiance Hematology and Oncology Department.
