Theodore G. "Ted" Nelson

of Ionia, formerly of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the age of 53 years. He is survived by his siblings; Phillip J. (Joyce) Nelson, Todd M. (Sue) Nelson, Lori A. (Tom) Masters, and Matthew J. (Mariann) Nelson; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Nelson.

Ted was employed by Ventra Ionia Main as Purchasing Manager for 26 years. He loved gardening, traveling to visit friends and family and his cats. He was very generous with his nieces and nephews. Ted graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1981 and Michigan State University in 1985.

Mr. Nelson is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, March 25 at 8:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Brian Lenz as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, March 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.
