Schuring, Terry Lee

of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 age 65 years. Terry was born on July 5, 1946 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Thomas J. and Isobel Schuring of Portage, Michigan. He grew up in Portage, and graduated from Portage Central High School and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Terry was a proud veteran, having honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Terry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Schuring, his children, John (Shawn) Schuring of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Sarah (Corey) Passow of Jackson, his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Scott and Jenna Passow, and Katherine, Thomas, and Emily Schuring, his brother, Ronald (Sue) Schuring of Portage, Michigan, and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry adored his family, and particularly his grandchildren, who were a source of great joy. He enjoyed fishing and travel, and was an avid sports fan who loved rooting for the Michigan State Spartans, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers.

Terry is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 to 8 PM with a Vigil Service at 7 PM. The family will also receive friends at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Monday from 10 to 10:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta Michigan on Monday at 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter or the Disabled American Veterans would be appreciated.
