Teresa Jean Thompson, age 50, passed away on October 6, 2014 after losing her battle with breast cancer, which she bravely fought for six years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nat and Sarah Thompson, and her brother-in-law Bob Taylor. She is survived by three brothers, Jim (Mary Ellen), Jerry (Laurie) and Dan (Val); four sisters, Ellen (Terry) McIntee, Janet (Rick) Corder, Kathy (Ted) Hamblin and Carol Taylor; sixteen nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends, including her dear friends the Eder family and Kim, Amy, Ann and Marcia, who provided never-ending support and love.

Teresa enjoyed a 20 year career as an RN, and especially loved her time working in ER. She cherished her time with her nieces and nephews. She was a talented athlete and loved camping and being outdoors. She was a great animal lover and had compassion for all living beings. Teresa had a gift for making people laugh and all those who knew her will miss her good humor, quick wit and unselfishness. Her family is very grateful to the physicians and staff of Allegiance Hematology/Oncology and Allegiance Hospice Home for taking such wonderful care of Teresa.

There will be a memorial service at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 14 at 11 a.m. Family will receive visitors from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, October 13 and also one hour before the memorial service. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow and the family invites all who have been a part of Teresa's life to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cascades Humane Society, Jackson Interfaith Shelter, or the Gayle M. Jacob Cancer Center at Allegiance Hematology/Oncology.
