RIEDE, STEPHEN DONALD

of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, under the loving care of his family and the staff at the Allegiance Hospice Home at the age of 76 years. He is survived by three children, Elizabeth (Alan) Michaels, Stephen C. (Michelle) Riede, and Amy Brafford; grandchildren, Daniel, Aaron, Zachary, John Michaels, Connor Riede, Brenden & Brody Brafford; brother, Michael (Jan) Riede; sisters in law, brothers in law; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Jean Elaine Riede.

Steve graduated from St. John High School and Jackson Community College. He served in the U.S. National Guard and worked his entire career at Aeroquip Corporation until retirement. Steve was a life long member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to his cabin up north, watching U of M and Alabama football and basketball games. He took numerous vacations with his family and friends. Steve was a devoted husband and father and grandfather. His most favorite times were spent playing cards with his seven grandsons and fishing on Cranberry Lake and at the pond.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Robert Pienta as the celebrant.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

A special "Thank You" to the nurses & staff at the Allegiance Hospice Home for the wonderful care they provided.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions to St. John Catholic Church or the Allegiance Hospice Home would be appreciated.
