Janson, Stephen "Francis"
We sadly announce that our husband, father, and grandfather, Steve "Francis" Janson, age 78, entered into the loving arms of his heavenly family on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Steve leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Judy Kay; three children, Steve (Amy) Janson, Fred Janson, and Barbara (Richard) Scott; six grandchildren, Emilie (Jake) Buter, Abram (Emma Lynn) Janson, Benjamin (Alexandria) Scott, Alyssa (David) Maust, Audie (Tom) King, and Abbey Grace Janson; six great-grandchildren, Jonah, Opie, Peyton Hattie Jo, Hudson, and Whitley; one brother, Carl; two brothers-in-law, Frank Fisher and Mike McNeil; one sister-in-law, Patty (Mike) Santillo of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Steve and Judy met in 9th grade, the boy from Queen's and the girl from St. John's, and the rest is history.
Steve completed a Union Carpenter's Education. Steve was employed at the local garment industry, Camp International, serving as manager of shipping and receiving for 29 years. Steve's favorite job was with Jackson's DNR. For the past 12 years, he served the County and State Parks, fishing sites, lakes, fields, and acres of God's countryside, where he cemented valuable friendships with John, Joyce, Sandy, Ben, Duane, and Shane.
Steve's lifelong friendships with Don Parker and Doug Schumard were indescribable. His medical needs were extensive at times over the past 20 years. He trusted and was rewarded with the excellent care of his doctors, Dr. Mike Burgess, Dr. Mark Zande, and Dr. Rob Albertson.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Nelson officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
In lieu of sending flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's Research or St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church's future restoration projects would be appreciated.
