Bentschneider, Stephen E.
Of Jackson, passed away after a round of golf at Boyne Mountain on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
Steve was born on January 15, 1948 to Marjorie and Eugene Bentschneider in the back seat of his family's car in Tecumseh, Michigan. He had a happy childhood in Manchester, Michigan where he loved the annual Manchester Chicken Broil working with his dad, sister Bonnie and brother Eric. Steve moved to Jackson where he started his business, Labor Aiding Systems, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. Steve loved his work and all those that he worked with.
Steve made Jackson his home, where he met the love of his life, Lori (McQuillan). He is also survived by his daughter, Courtney (Greg) McLennan, their children Meghan and Carder; son, Joseph; daughter, Emma (Michael) Devine, their children Louis and Moira; daughter, Jill (fiancé Kevin Thorrez). His family meant everything to him. He was a very proud papa. Also survived by his dear aunt Wilma Lentz; sister, Bonnie (Joel) Darby; brother, Eric Bentschneider; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joan (Patrick) Crowley, Patricia (William) Kelly, Maurine (Royal) Lefere, Eunice Cooper, Jane (Jerry) Baglien, Thomas (Jody) McQuillan, Mary (Michael) Tylutki, Ellen (Jeffrey) Schneider, Peggy (Stephen) Utter, Susan (John) Fahey, Edmund (Becky) McQuillan and Patrick (Meg) McQuillan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Margie Bentschneider and Lori's parents, Tiny and Marguerite McQuillan.
Steve was an avid supporter of Lumen Christi Catholic School. In lieu of sending flowers, contributions to Lumen Christi Catholic School would be appreciated.
Steve is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Saturday, June 10 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Father Geoff Rose will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
