Age 91, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Stanley was born in Jackson, Michigan on October 27, 1921 as "Stanley Frank Korzeniecki" to parents Frank Korzeniecki and Bronistawa Puzowna both of whom were born in Poland. He officially changed his name to "Stanley Frank Korniski" in 1954. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington CV-16 for 41 months.(The Lexington received the Presidential Unit Citation). He also served in the Korean War for 15 months being recalled to active duty from the U.S. Navy Reserve. After serving in the U. S. Navy, Stanley worked as a printer in Lansing for several years then worked as the clerk at the Michigan League building at the University of Michigan until his retirement in 1985. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spectator sports of football, basketball, etc.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Wentz Korniski of Jackson and Joe Korniski of Flint and sisters Wanda Taraskiewicz of Jackson and Lucille Blossey of Lansing. Stanley is survived by brother Ed Korniski and sister Ann Lindsay both of Jackson. Per his request, Stanley has been cremated and there will be no service.
