Stanley Gerard Drewno

Stanley Gerard Drewno of Brooklyn, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026 at the age of 76.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jill Drewno; his brother, Mark (Denise) Drewno; niece, Devin (Elias) Jamoua; nephews, Dylan (Hayley) Drewno, Chad (Julie) Smith, and Clint Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Irene Drewno; and his sister, Michele Smith.

Stanley was born on May 23, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Trenton High School before earning his degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Stanley dedicated 55 years to coaching high school football and more than 50 years to coaching track and field. He also served as a Michigan High School Athletic Association registered track official for 40 years. His many accomplishments included induction into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, as well as being named Regional Coach of the Year in 1981, 1997, and 1998.

Stanley was an active member of numerous organizations, including the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association, National High School Football Coaches Association, Detroit Catholic Coaches Association, National Catholic Education Association, Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association, St. Rita Catholic Church, and the Polish Falcons.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Rita Catholic Church with Father Bosco Padamattummal officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
