Dinverno, Sophia Maureen

Of Grass Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the age of 23. She was preceded in death by one brother, Micah Dinverno. She is survived by her parents, Joel and Deanna; sister, Lydia; four brothers, Josiah, Noah, Isaiah, and Elijah; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in both Michigan and Minnesota.

Sophia attended both Lumen Christi Catholic High School and Jackson Prep and Early College for her high school years. As a sophomore at Lumen Christi, Sophia was a varsity runner for the girls cross country team. She then graduated from Jackson Prep and Early College and continued on in the Jackson College nursing program.

While growing up, Sophia was involved in many sports and activities. She began taking dance lessons at the Academy of the Arts at the age of four. Sophia was a joy to watch as a member of the Jackson Dance Company performing in yearly recitals and competitions. She also played soccer for AYSO in Grass Lake and ran several community 5K with her family.

Sophia had a special love for horses and became an accomplished young horsewoman. She competed in numerous equestrian events throughout Michigan with her beloved horse Lola, aka "Better Than Boys." When she wasn't at the barn, she was making videos for her successful YouTube channel, Violet Flowergarden, riding virtual horses in the online game Star Stable.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM at St. John's Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 28 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
