Shafley, Shirley Ann

Age 92, born June 28, 1928, in Jackson, Michigan. Widow of Charles "Bill" Smith, 25 years, and Harry "Ken" Shafley, 40 years, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Kathleen Harsch, her brothers, David and Tony Harsch and many other relatives and friends. Shirley graduated from St. John's and was a devout member at St. John's her entire life. She worked at Margaret Mary's, Clark Equipment and Polly's, taught sewing and CCD classes, was a den mother for the Boy Scouts and a member of the Guys and Dolls Dance Club. Shirley enjoyed going on vacations, golfing, baking, sewing, needlepoint, knitting, and arts & crafts, but her most enjoyment in life was always the time she spent with her family and her friends. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her six children, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and by all who knew her.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church located at 711 N. Martin Lutheran King Drive, in Jackson, Michigan with Fr. Robert Pienta officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The funeral will be lived streamed on the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church's Facebook page.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
