Hanson, Shirley Ann
Passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at the age of 83 at home peacefully under the loving care of her family. Proceeded in death by her parents Hillery and Verna Keeton of Red Bay, Alabama, her husband Donovan O. Hanson, daughter Kimberly Childers, stepson Paul D. Hanson, stepdaughter Audrey D. Hanson, precious great grand-daughter Kaycie Schoff. Survived by her sister Jettie Keeton, son Michael Childers (Glenn Carlson), daughter Jennifer Williams (James Susskind), stepson Matthew D. Hanson, grandsons Sean Shoff, Bradley Shoff (Lisa Wan), granddaughters Alyson Freund, Chelsea Hanson, great grandchildren Madison, Paxton and Aubrey Louise, sister-in-law, Marthajane Bielfuss, niece, Amy Zyski, and dear friends Jeff and Pat Hritz and Roger and Jill Mullins.
Shirley retired from Grass Lake Community Schools as Bookkeeper after 18 years of service. Shirley was a member of the Jackson Elks #113. She loved playing golf, reading, playing cards and traveling to one of her favorite casinos.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Desnoyer Funeral Home following the current social distancing guidelines mandated by the State of Michigan. A service will be held outside at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Chapel- Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Gordon Steinke officiating. Entombment will be immediately following the service.
Thank you to Residential Hospice Team and to Donna Schweikert dear friend and care giver for their compassion during this time as you gave her comfort and peace. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
