Massie (Durham), Sherry Lynn
of Horton, passed away under the loving care of her family and the Angels at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the age of 53 years. Survived by her loving husband, Stephen; three children, Melissa, Michael (Jamie), and Elizabeth (Jeff); her girls, Emma Elizabeth and Lexi Lynn; mother, Vella Durham; brothers and sister, George (Kelly), Dawna (Tim), Richard, and John (Manuela); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and loving friends who were the joy of her life and cherished deeply. Preceded in death by her father, George Durham.
Sherry worked for Peters Consultants in Berwick, Pennsylvania. She was a devoted volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters and a member of the Jackson Corvette Club. She was an avid dog lover (whisperer). Sherry lived each day to the fullest and enjoyed the small things in life.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 9:30 AM at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Doctor Eric Beck officiating. Interment will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, December 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Jackson, Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home, or the Shiawassee Humane Society would be appreciated.
