Raymond, (Marcella), Sarah A.

98, of Grass Lake, MI and previously Jackson, MI died shortly after midnight Saturday, April 11, 2020 at home surrounded by family. Sarah graduated from Sault St Marie High School, Sault St Marie, MI and received a diploma from Cleary College, Ypsilanti, MI in 1942. During WWII she worked at the Willow Run-manufacturing complex.

She married Earl Jason Raymond in 1947 in Ypsilanti and moved to Jackson, MI. They had three children and were divorced in 1957.

Sarah worked as a court stenographer and legal secretary before working 30+ years at Commonwealth as a Data Processing Supervisor.

She will be forever remembered for her hard work ethics and strong family love and support, a true role model. She never drove a car and walked to work. Sarah loved taking very long walks, hours of housework and yardwork. For several years she held family reunions and made the best meatballs, spaghetti and stuffed peppers. She was also the best grandma!

Sarah is survived by son Dr. John (Julie) Raymond of Manistee, MI; daughter-in-law Margaret (North) Raymond of Midland, MI; daughter Constance Raymond-Schenk of Grass Lake, MI; granddaughter Megan (Lauritz) Goodrich of Neenah, WI; grandson Andrew (Addie) of Charlotte, NC; grandson Jacob Schenk (life partner Bryan Face) of Albion, MI; grandson Christopher (Melissa) Schenk of Addison, MI; great grandson Magnus Goodrich of Neenah, WI; and great grandson Ethan Raymond of Charlotte, NC.

She was preceded in death by her son, James, and all her brothers and sisters (Mary, Eva, Johnny, James, Joseph, Charles, Frank Marcella and Rose (Marcella) Watkins.)

Due to the corona virus outbreak, a private funeral service for family only will be held. Friends and family are invited to watch the Funeral live streamed at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church Jackson website and Facebook on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans would be appreciated.
