LEFERE, (SCHULER) SARAH JANE

Born January 14, 1927 climbed the stairway to Heaven on December 29, 2010. When Sarah passed away she was surrounded by her legacy: her loving children. She is now reunited with her husband Mickey, her precious son Mark, granddaughter Natalie, and daughter Cathy Keena. Sarah was known as Sarah Jane by those that knew her growing up on Henrietta St. in a home filled with love from her parents Morris and Rose. She was a special sister to her brothers Al (Evelyn) and Kenny (Phyllis) who preceded her in death and Cliff (Joanne) who survive. Sarah was a woman of incredible humility, grace, and unending love for her children. She made each of them feel like they were her "favorite". Her beloved children are Mickey & Joanne Lefere, Rick & Janie Lefere, Flip & Cay Lefere, LouAnn & Jim Shawver, Sara & Tom Cash, Vince & Judy Lefere, and MaryLynn Lefere. She was adored by her 13 grandchildren; Tammy, Toby, Jodie, Melissa, Beth Ann, Mary Sue, Alexandra, Ellery, Giselle, Clark, Dustin, Julia, and Noah and 9 great grandchildren that called her GiGi; Kayla, Evan, Ian, Makenna, Owen, Graham, Mallory, Hadley, and Jack. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Sarah was not only called "mom" by her children but by many other kids that hung out on Crescent Road. Her passions included cooking (big noodle soup), knitting and creating special times for family and friends. Mrs. Lefere is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 11:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Interment St. John's Cemetery. The Rev. Timothy MacDonald officiating.
