left to be with her God and Savior on Friday, October 28, 2011. She was born on May 1, 1944 to Carl and Albertine James. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Dale Popp Jr. She is survived by her mother, Albertine; her life partner, Kenneth M. Todd; longtime friends, David and Nancy Snow of Jackson; other family members include, Dann and Shelly Todd of Jackson, Josh, Donald, Melinda and Danny Todd of Jackson, Steve and Toni Todd of Kalamazoo; step-daughters, Holly Bliss of Jackson, Brenda Allen of Iowa, Mary Riley of Missouri and her fellow dealers at the Antiques Market of Williamston.
Sally was retired from Northwest High School where she was a long time chemistry teacher, friend and mentor. She had served as the Northwest women's golf coach for several years as well as the National Honor Society advisor. She obtained both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Michigan State University and was a big Spartan fan. Sally was an antique dealer and caner of high regard and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
A celebration of Sally's life will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ray Thomas officiating. Interment will take place at Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Allegiance Hospice Home for the loving care and compassion given to Sally.
