Dwyer (Englert, Meredith), Sandra Lee
Was the oldest daughter, born May 28th, 1942 to John and Janet (Perkins) Englert in Niagara Falls, NY. She attended Dryden area schools and was involved cheerleading, and was homecoming Queen. She graduated in 1960. She had 2 brothers and 2 sisters John (Patty) Englert, Lynda Groh, Janet (Steve) Shaw, and the Late James (Peggy) Englert.
She married Gerald Meredith in July of 1960 and raised her family of 4 with him for 26 years. From that marriage she had 3 Daughters, Lori Ann Ernest, Terri Lynn (Brad) Buiwitt, Jackie Lee (Scott) Shenk, and Son, Gerald Blake (Heather) Meredith. She loved her family fiercely!
They, as a family, sang for many years (The Meredith Family Singers) in several area churches in the mid Michigan Area. She loved Music and was so deep in her Faith. Her family was the light of her life.
She had 11 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jacob (Leah) Beckwith, Kyle (Haley) Clough, Joshua Beckwith, Aymee (Nick) Henne, Jordan Brooks, Jesse Beckwith, Dylan Brooks, Austin (Brenda) Meredith, Taylor (Chuck) Stevens, Maddi Meredith, and Ryan Ernest She also had 17 great grandchildren ages 8 mos-10 yrs. whom she adored.
She married Thomas Dwyer on May 15, 1999. They were happily married for nearly 25 years. They lived in the Spring Arbor/Jackson area. She was very involved in her church, The First United Methodist Church of Jackson, where she loved singing in the choir. She performed at Carnige Hall with them.
She loved to Golf, and played in leagues with her lady friends and Tom. They loved to travel together and enjoyed their time in Florida in the winters, and their convertible rides. She was an amazing Artist. She loved to paint, sketch, and do unique beading work.
Sandy was diagnosed with Late onset Alzheimer's Dementia in 2014. She fought it so hard for 10 years. She passed away April 15, at 12:25 pm at the Meadows of Owosso, with Hospice of Owosso Memorial, surrounded by Tom, her family and sweet music.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Meadows Assisted living and Owosso Memorial Hospice for their wonderful care.
She is survived by her husband Tom, her children, Lori, Terri, Jackie and Jerry, her 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 siblings.
If you met Sandy, you immediately loved her. She was a beautiful Soul, had an amazingly bright spark about her and everyone she knew was better because of it.
She will be so dearly missed.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Sandra's Life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 275 W Michigan Ave, Jackson, with Pastor Ed Ross and Pastor Tonya Arnesen officiating. A private inurment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, April 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or First United Methodist Church of Jackson would be appreciated.
