Genix, Samuel J.

Age 99, of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Marilyn Genix (Burkhart); parents, Peter and Rose Genix; and brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Maria Hines, Larry Ginechese (Julie), Karen Williams, Lonnie Genix (Kathy), Sam Genix (Mary), Tina Genix, Lisa Conley, Greg Genix, and Mickey Genix; 24 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; and 1 great great great grandchild.

Samuel was a decorated WWII Veteran of the 125th Infantry of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed going to his cabin and fishing and hunting over the years. Samuel enjoyed spending time with his children and all of his grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father James Shaver officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 27 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Contributions to Boystown or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
