Arnett, Sally Anne
of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 surrounded by her family. While we grieve our immense loss, we celebrate her new eternal life in heaven for which she embraced.
Sally was born in Homer, Michigan to the late Eslie and Muriel (Vandenburgh) Face on October 22, 1943. Cherished mother of Cathy Arnett, Susan (the late Doug) Gammon, Michael and Michelle Arnett. Beloved grandmother to Gabriel Arnett and Michaela Arnett, Erik Gammon and Holly Gammon, Tyler Arnett, Alyssa Arnett, and Lily Arnett. Former Spouse to Clarence Arnett. Her only brother, Raymond Face, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister-in-law Elaine Face and niece Kristie Face, both of Georgia.
Sally graduated from Homer High School in 1961. She was a medical transcriptionist for several years at W. A. Foote Memorial Hospital. She then worked at Walker Manufacturing for many years where she forged friendships that lasted through the years. Sally spent her children's youth staying at home to raise them, always making sure they were at practice or had their forgotten homework delivered to them at school. She then began her career as a school secretary taking care of everyone else's children. She always had a smile and a hug for every child and a band aid for every skinned knee. She somehow remembered every child's name, from elementary until after they went on to graduate. Sally ended her long career by retiring from Western High School.
Through the years, Sally was active at St. Paul's Episcopal Church teaching Bible school, serving as a member of the Brownell Luncheon Group, participating in the Ladies Guild, was a 4H ceramics teacher, later in life converted to Catholicism and participated in fellowship at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church and was a volunteer at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital gift shop. She spent time going to lunch with friends, writing letters to relatives, scrapbooking, enjoying her grandchildren, reading, and running her "Circle A Ceramics" business. She loved her garden, her faith, and her family. Sally will be missed for her generosity, her infinite love, and dedication to family.
Visitation will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm. Father Timothy MacDonald of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church will officiate services on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1pm, family will receive friends from noon until the beginning of the service. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Homer, Michigan.
Those who wish may make memorial donations to Cascades Humane Society.
