Of Jackson, passed away under the care of her loving family and the staff at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the age of 91 years.  She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James; two children, James Jr. (Susan) Markiewicz and Anne Markiewicz; and three grandchildren, Meaghan, Ryan, and Molly.

Meara taught elementary children in the Jackson Public School District for 34 years.  She loved to play Bridge, golf, and needle pointing. Meara was a member of the Jackson Woman's Club and enjoyed traveling.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday, October 7 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
