Dunivan, Russell Ward
Passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the age of 92. He was born in Akron, OH to parents, Bessie (Marshall) and father, Otis Dunivan and was raised in Perrysville, IN. He served in WWII in the 49th Air Police Squadron and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan from 1946-1949 during the Asiatic Pacific conflict and was shot in the foot guarding an airplane in a hanger. He was Chief of Police of Brady Lake, OH for 40 years and retired in March of 1995, led a group called Jr. Police for young men who wanted to be in the police force for 5 years, and belonged to FOPA for many years. He was a good provider, husband, father, and grandfather. He had a smile, a song, and a laugh for everyone who needed it, was content with a crossword and a CB, and worked his crosswords up until he died. He was active with the American Legion and worked a game wagon for the Brady Lake Festival every year.
In 2013 Russell and Patricia moved to Michigan with his daughter and son-in-law and was part of the Michigan Honors WWII veterans event at the Capitol. He was a good strong man with morals and values.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patricia; 5 children, Ricky Allen Dunivan (Lisa), J Kay (Dunivan) Marquis (Thomas Evan Marquis deceased), Robin D. Dunivan (Darlene), Jill (Dunivan) Pangborn (John Pangborn), and Kelly Dunivan Scott; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Booher (Quinton) and brother, Jimmy Dunivan.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Bob, Rolland, sister Myrna, son Robin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1505 W. Michigan Ave, Jackson at 2:00 PM with Reverend Kate Schroeder officiating.
