Royal Clark Danley III

age 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Allegiance Health. He was born on May 12, 1941 to Royal Clark Danley Jr. and Gladys Finn Danley in Hamburg, Iowa. His first five years were spent in various Army bases until they settled in Deerfield, Michigan where he grew up with his brother Bill (JoAnn) Danley and Jeanne (Bill) Rouppas. His cousin Dave Finn lived next door. He has two California cousins, Monica (Don) Payne and Tim Danley. Clark graduated from Howe Military School, Howe, Indiana in 1959 and attended Adrian College and JCC. On January 31, 1969 he married Linda Mason. Their children are Michelle Danley, Dawn (Ed) Wisniewski, and Maj. Ryan C. Danley, USAF and wife, LTC (Dr.) Linda L. Huffer, USA. Grandchildren include Xavier and Alexandra Hovinen, Lauren and Noah Wisniewski, and Grace, Annamarie and Brooke Danley. He is also survived by his long time friend, Gary Hegerberg.

Clark worked 27 years for Comerica Bank, retiring in 1996 and doing various part-time courier jobs, most recently for Garcia Labs. Clark loved family gatherings, playing with kids and dogs, teasing them, and watching their ball games. He also enjoyed golfing with friends. He was an avid bowler, having traveled to various cities for U.S. Bowling Congress competitions for 40 years. Volunteering was a big part of his life-at Jackson Northwest Kiwanis, Handicapped Children and Adults Board member (now Disability Connections) and the Dahlem Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at South Jackson Community Church, 1024 Kimmel Rd., Jackson, MI, 49201. Visitation at 3:00 PM, service at 4:00 PM with Pastor Steve Brown and Rev. Jim Yeutter.

Donations may be made to Dahlem Center, Northwest Kiwanis or South Jackson Community Church.
