Tingley, Ross Raymond
Of Jackson, passed away under the loving care of his wife and the staff of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the age of 78 years. Ross lived on the northeast side of Jackson in a small house without indoor plumbing until he graduated high school at Jackson High, class of 1964. He joined the Navy and served for four years during the Vietnam War. When he returned from the Navy, Ross became a painter with his brother Eugene. They started their own painting contracting business in 1976 and worked together as painting contractors for 30 years and also owned Tingley's Paint Store for several years. Ross loved hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife and best friend of 43 years, Donna. He took up golf in his 40s, and never stopped golfing. He worked hard and played hard. Ross was fun, kind, patient and giving. He was a good man and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Tingley (Greening); one son, Tim; step-granddaughter, Acacia Greening; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Tingley, Pat (Jim) Lyke, Joyce (Steve) Bohne, and Carol (Chris) Bush; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Brian Greening; brother, Eugene Tingley; half brother, Kenny; and parents, Gladys and Kenneth Tingley.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Ross' Life will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home with Pastor Derek Riddle officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 27 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions in Ross' memory to Advance CHF and Cardiac Transplant Department at Henry Ford in Detroit or the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice would be appreciated.
