Age 63, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and a deep commitment to helping others.
She was born in Detroit on January 14, 1961, the youngest daughter of Michael Joseph and Louise (Blackford) Sidlosky. Rosemary grew up in Farmington, and moved to Hillsdale in 1976. She graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1979 and received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Central Michigan University in 1983. She held the title of Administration Support Manager at the Capitol Area Community Action Agency in Lansing for over 15 years.
Rosemary was known for her warm, compassionate spirit, her creativity, and her infectious sense of humor. She played violin throughout her college years and had a lifelong love of the arts. She also possessed a remarkable talent for baking, which she began cultivating by the time she was 9 years old.
She lived in Leslie for many years before moving to Jackson last winter, a place she had always loved, and her home reflected her love of beauty and craftsmanship. She was an avid collector of hand-blown glass pieces, and enjoyed antiquing.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Bernard Nagel, and by her siblings, Carolyn (Harry) Mattison, Mary Beth (Steve) Harnish, David (Candy) Sidlosky, Barbara (Byron) Renner, Mark (Sandie) Sidlosky, and Margaret Sidlosky, as well as nine nieces and nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Louise Sidlosky.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Queen of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
