GIES (MURPHY), ROSEMARY THERESE

Rosemary Therese Gies (Murphy) left this world, as she lived with dignity and grace on May 3, 2013. Always a lady. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 yrs, Paul Gies,"her four lovely children", Jane (Jim), Paul (Susan), Patricia (Paul) and Edward(Kelly), nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a special niece Judy as well as many other nieces and nephews. As a wife, parent, family member or friend, Rosemary brought a fun combination of etiquette and mischievousness to the relationship. She loved socializing and being a trusted listener. From a distance Rosemary could always be found in a crowd by her beautiful silver hair. Up close, her blue eyes sparkled and made every conversation special.

Rosemary and Paul met at Holy Redemer High School in Detroit. Paul was on the football team, but Rosemary often said that she was attracted to Paul by his intelligence. Paul and Rosemary moved their family from Ohio, New York and Minnesota before settling in Jackson. Jackson has been a blessing for Rosemary and her family in many ways. Rosemary spent years volunteering at Lumen Christi while Paul is active at Queens. They both enjoy a strong network of friends and their personal relationships with local shops is special in today's .com world. Rosemary lived well and left us on her terms.
