Smith, Rose M. 91, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Allegiance
Hospice Home on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Rose is
survived by her children, Jerry Smith of Jackson, Roy Smith of Jackson, Richard (Maria)
Smith of South Fulton, TN , Philip (Mary) Smith of Jackson, Joyce (Scott) Davis of
Jackson, Donna Blais of Clark Lake, Mona Worsham of Onsted, Judy (Jeff) Griffith of
Jackson; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Susie Stump of
St. Johns, Frank (Joan) Koenigsknecht of Pentwater, Aggie (Leon) Keilen of Westphalia,
Roman (Mary Ann) Koenigsknecht of Fowler; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and
sisters-in-law. Preceeded in death by her loving husband, Carl; son, David; and
daughter-in-law, Joyce; brothers, Arnie, Leo, Fr. William, Nicholas, Mark, John, Benno
Koenigsknecht; and sisters Martha Koenigsknecht, Helen Stump and Louise Burns. Rose
was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and enjoyed attending
Mass. Roses favorite activities revolved around spending time with her large and growing
family. She was always laughing and cheering up others around her. Roses favorite
phrase spoke her life, Why am I laughing? It is better than crying. Mrs. Smith is at the
Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Thursday, September 23
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held
at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Mass of Christian
Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Robert Pienta
officiating. Interment St. Johns Cemetery.
