Schneider, (Herman) Rose Marie

Of Jackson Michigan, passed away at the age of 92 on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, under the loving care of her family, the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Program and the staff of the Countryside Manor Assisted Living Center. Rose Marie is survived by six children: James (Linda) of Port Angeles, WA; Alan of Jackson; David (Janice) of Lawton, MI; Rae Marie Malloy of Blairsville, PA; Patrick of Los Angeles, CA; and Michael (Rebecca) of Brooklyn, MI. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved. Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband of almost 66 years, Ray Lewis Schneider; a great grandson Mathew Schneider; and all of her brothers and sisters, Elsie, Bertha, Lucille, Paul, Carl and Ralph. Rose Marie was primarily a homemaker, but she was also a skilled seamstress who did dressmaking out of her home for many Jackson area clients. Volunteer work was very important to Rose Marie. She was an active member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Parish for many years and was a past president of the Altar Society. She used her dressmaking skills to make linens and vestments for the parish. In later years she became a volunteer at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, installing life lines with her husband. In more recent years she made get well cards for patients in the hospital from her home.

Rose Marie was as generous in death as she was in life and has donated her body to the University of Michigan Medical School. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Tim Nelson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church or to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Program.

Rose Marie's family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Countryside Manor Assisted Living Program and the staff of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Program for the outstanding and compassionate care our mother received during her illness and her final days.
