Ronald Emanuel Bergstrom Jr, age 62, passed away suddenly on February 22nd, 2022. Ron was born in Traverse City, MI on March 21st, 1959 to Patricia and Ron Bergstrom Sr. The family later moved to Jackson and he graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1978. Ron graduated from Olivet College with a degree in accounting. He worked for many years at Coca-Cola and Aunt Millies. Ron was a big sports fan, always cheering on the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, and Spartans. He loved participating in Fantasy sports and often was a winner. Ron was very proud of being on Lumen Christi's first state championship football team. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of watching his daughter, Mallory, perform in the Northwest High School band and his son, Tyler, serving in the Air Force. Ron was seen as a dad to all friends of Mallory and Tyler and enjoyed braking the car to the beat of the music with them inside. He was known as Squeak by his family and kept the nickname until the day of his death.
Ron looked forward to his weekday morning and afternoon "Papa" calls with his son and two granddaughters. He was a very patient and easy going man, which we all know are traits he needed with his family. Ron never had an unkind word to say about anyone and would always help someone if they were in need. Ron was a big animal lover and was known to spoil his "unwanted" cats.
Ron is survived by wife Tracy of 21 years, daughter Mallory, son Tyler (Amanda), granddaughters Amelia and Emmalyn, brothers Don (Denise) and Jon (Katie) Bergstrom, sisters Pam (John) Butler and Sue Fall, sister-in-law Kelly (Dave) Chirio, his cats Howard and Allyssa, many nieces and nephews, and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Sr and Patricia, his mother-in-law, Judy Donnelly, and his brother-in-law, Scott Cole.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Northeast Missionary Church, 903 Virginia Street, Jackson with Pastor Darren A. Pettifor officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, March 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 3 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations for final expenses would be appreciated.
