Of Jackson passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2013 age 90 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother to his daughters Rita (Tom) and Mary (Bob); sons Gary (Kim Croft) and Jim (Anna); grandchildren Brent and Kim Barker and Jacob Vander Weide, and brother John (Nina).
He was preceded in death by wife Marie, grandson Jimmy Vander Weide, and brother Harold. Roger was a Veteran of World War II, an avid golfer and sports fan and retired engineer from MDOT.
Mr. Vander Weide is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Rosary service will be held on Sunday, December 8 at 6:00 pm, after which the family will receive friends until 8:00 pm. The family will also receive friends at Queen's Church on Monday from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Father Timothy MacDonald will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society's Food Pantry.
