White, Robert A.

Born March 5, 1931, entered into the state of eternal life on July 18, 2019 at the Bethany Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Jean White; his sister, Betty Newman; and his brother, Douglas White. He is survived by his sister, Brenda McDonald. He was the devout husband of Betty White for 63 years. He is the father of Michael White, Doug White, and Debby Junewick (White). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Remi Brackett, Maitri White, Jacob Junewick, Ali Junewick, and Bodhi White.

Robert was proud to be a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid member of the Knights of Columbus. He was employed at Kelsey Hayes, Jackson Drop Forge, Clark Equipment, Rockford Drop Forge, Red Oak Drop Forge, Miller industries, and he ended his career and retired from Thompson Industries.

Robert loved his retirement home on Lake Huron. He and Betty enjoyed many good times together there with family and friends. Robert relished sharing food and drink when socializing. He was a stout fan of the Fighting Irish football team. Robert spent many hours puttering in his garden and perfecting his landscaping. His golf game never reached the level of his landscaping expertise. His score keeping was unreliable.

Over the past 5 years, Bob had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease. As the disease sapped his strength, the Bethany Home cared for him in a dignified and compassionate manner. His family is eternally grateful for the staff at Bethany Home. They made Bob part of their family.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Fr. James Shaver officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Luncheon immediately following the Mass at the Parish Center.
